Osborn, running as an independent, presents a "Nebraska Growth & Fairness Plan" that he says reflects the priorities of working people rather than a party platform. He pledges to protect paychecks, Social Security, and health care by taking on corporations and the politicians he says serve them, so that elders can age with dignity and no one goes bankrupt from medical debt. He promises to cut waste, end corporate welfare, refuse to vote for spending the country cannot afford, and work toward a balanced budget, arguing that his independence from both parties makes that possible. He vows to "fight like hell for rural Nebraska" by taking on corporate monopolies and restoring real markets in agriculture for family farms and ranches, and by helping locally owned small businesses compete with large corporations. He also pledges to champion the strongest anti-corruption platform Washington has seen and to defend constitutional freedoms while working to turn down the political temperature.
