Tafoya, a former award-winning journalist running as an outsider, organizes her issues around stopping fraud, law and order, cutting costs and taxes, and "courage and common sense." On fraud, she says officials let fraudsters steal billions from Minnesota taxpayers and calls for a national anti-fraud agenda: deporting non-citizens convicted of fraud through the Deporting Fraudsters Act, new mandatory minimum federal sentences for fraud, and stripping federal funding from states that fail to implement anti-fraud controls and audit practices. On public safety, she says Minnesota's crime has risen since the "defund the police" movement, and pledges more funding, equipment, and training for police, opposition to removing their legal protections, enforcement of immigration law with deportation of criminal illegal aliens, and cooperation among federal, state, and local law enforcement. On the economy, she wants Congress to spend, borrow, and tax less, opposes any middle-class tax increase and repeal of the Working Family Tax Cuts, promises market-oriented health care solutions to curb health inflation, and supports all-of-the-above, reliable American energy. On values and governance, she pledges to keep men out of women's sports and locker rooms, pursue education reform that restores parents' say and accountability, support voter ID, paper ballots, and the SAVE Act, and use Senate oversight powers to fight corruption.
