Ramaswamy's plan aims to make Ohio the most affordable state and the best place to build a life. On taxes, he would slash property taxes immediately, provide gas tax relief, and phase out the state income tax starting with capital gains. On energy, he would expand natural gas and innovative energy technologies, streamline permitting, and cut regulations to reduce electric bills. On the economy, he would cut government bloat and red tape, attract future industries with low-cost energy, and widen paths to homeownership and entrepreneurship. On education, he would raise standards with a focus on third-grade literacy, eighth-grade numeracy, and twelfth-grade civics, give parents transparency and choice, pay top teachers more, promote healthy meals and daily physical education, and expand career-technical education and apprenticeships. On public safety, he would enforce stricter bail and sentencing for repeat violent offenders, empower local police and sheriffs, and address severe psychiatric illness so officers can focus on crime. He says he will bring people together around shared values, framing the race as "up vs. down," not right vs. left. His "Ohioans-First Data Center Pledge" says a data center may be built in a community only if local residents no longer pay for home electricity, property taxes fall in the surrounding area, and the facility meets all air and water standards while farmland is protected; he would issue a first-day executive order halting approval of new data center projects until these commitments are codified in law, suggesting data centers generate their own power and credit excess to residents.
